House in the Clouds, by Yosemite and Bass Lake

Great space, beautiful views. The outdoor areas are amazing. Easy to spend time with a large group here.

The place was pretty much on top of a hill so plenty of privacy especially if its a big group. I was a bit disappointed with some of the areas such as the game room and pool table, they were dusty and the covers were unclean. Outside, the hot tub was infested with bees, Jennifer made sure it was cleaned the next morning but still you expect better. The Wifi was extremely slow, especially since we had texted before and were assured that atleast text and general web surf would be possible, it wasn’t. That being said, the place was spacious enough for up-to 14 people with extra bedding available. The pictures and descriptions looked much better virtually so felt like a bit of a letdown but in 3 days it felt like a good place to rent.

Our experience is difficult to review because it involved two very different properties. We specifically booked the original home because we wanted to stay at Bass Lake. It was cute, about a block from the lake, had some lake views, and even included a private boat slip and parking. We were very excited about our stay. Unfortunately, after our first night, we were told dogs were not allowed at that property and we had to relocate. This was especially frustrating because the host’s description explicitly states that all of her properties are pet friendly. Had we known otherwise, we would not have booked this home. We were moved to another property about 20 minutes from the lake, isolated in the mountains. While the setting was beautiful, it was simply not the vacation experience we had chosen or paid for. Losing the lake location, access, and amenities was a major disappointment.
